“Hedda Gabler” Week 1

February 2nd, 2012

My club, the English Undergraduate Association, puts on a play every semester as a fun fundraiser. As a theatre nerd and an English major, I love this tradition–so much that I have done a show with the EUA every semester I’ve attended Cal. This semester is different though. Instead of assisting the stage manager, assistant directing, or producing like I have done in the past, I’m directing. It was a thrilling and frightening decision. But, it has been made and it is going pretty darn well!

My staff is excellent. My cast is fabulous. Everyone has a great sense of there roles. We have an entire act blocked! And, we’ve only had two rehearsals! I’m so pleased and I can’t wait for rehearsal tonight.

The Post- Year 1 at UC Berkeley Posts #1

May 13th, 2011

Hello All!

It has really been quite a while. College really takes over one’s life. I have had such an amazing experience at UC Berkeley and feel like I have grown so much in the year. Cal has made me realize that anything I want out of life is there for me to take as long as I have the will and the drive to fight for it and, more importantly, I already have everything I need to succeed.

So, this summer I’m planning to better myself through more reading, more writing, more working and more living! To hold myself accountable, I will be attempting to blog regularly about my progress in achieving these goals.

To everyone reading, thanks for your support!

Post to you soon.

My Last Show for WR Theatre: Stage Door

May 10th, 2010

Oh, man.  We closed my last show ever on Friday, April 30th! It was an amazing ride to here. I was chosen for the lead role two months ago and I was sooooo freaked out. I’d never played a lead before and I wasn’t sure if we could make it happen in two months. But, WR always comes through! “It’s a mystery!” Haha. The only regret I have is that I wish we could have performed more shows. :D

College Choice: Hannah’s Going to UC Berkeley!

I made my decision! I’m going to the school of city and redwoods! I’m scared and excited!

Senior STAR Testing, O how I love thee?

April 21st, 2010

Yesterday I didn’t have class ’til 2:10 and it ended at 2:40. I spent my entire “day-off”  because of star testing, wall papering/painting the set for ‘Stage Door” with my Mom, Kerrie, Emma, and Mr. Cook! It was so great! Although, Mr. Cook’s Elmo voice is somewhat creepy! What a wonderful way to spend time with the people you love and also get work done!

All the College Results are in…

April 16th, 2010

Well, Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, UPenn, Vassar and Columbia are all haters and will be very sad that they rejected me when I make millions off of my first bestseller and I give my monetary donations to one of the fine schools listed below that accepted me. So there, take that Ivy leagues.

So here are my options:

Chapman

Pepperdine

USC

UCLA

UC Berkeley

UCSD

UCSB (Not rly an option…Isla Vista=SCARY to my academic sensibilities!)

Where am I going? Who the heck knows.

Accepted!!!

I received my UCLA and UCSD acceptances this weekend and was very pleased! Still waiting on my dream schools letter…APRIL 1ST!!!

WR Theatre placed in every catagory! Bringing home 5th and 3rd place in monologues (Marina Moore and Garret Forster), 2nd place for Pygmalion, 2nd place for Julius Caesar, 2nd place for Hamlet (John Steele/Marina Moore), 2nd place for LEAST OFFENSIVE PLAY IN THE WHOLE DARN WORLD (Me and the BEST CAST UNDER THE SEA! ;) ), 3rd for Kerrie Pellon and I’s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead! and first place for The Rimers of Eldritch. It was SO stressful, but in the end, we did great!!!  Special Thanks to Mr. Cook who seriously is the best director ever, Kerrie Pellon, the best female scene partner ever, and to the judges who LAUGHED @ our LEAST OFFENSIVE SCENE so much that we felt like rock stars! I think that scene was the most fun I’ve ever had on stage and I think that Garret Forster is the best Improver ever!!! FISTACUFFS!!!! :D ! Well, that’s about it! ‘Til next post!

We competed against 20 schools with our modernized Julius Caesar scene and WE WON OUTSTANDING SCENE PRESENTATION (1st place)!!!! Everyone put in so much hardwork from Mr. Cook and I making the cut and modernizing the costume, to Kerrie casting it, to all the actors working their butts off even the night before in the hotel lobby! THANKS EVERYONE FOR CONTRIBUTING TO THIS WIN!!! And, congrats to Morgan Lauf who won OUTSTANDING ACTOR IN A SCENE for his Caesar!!!! GO WR THEATRE!

The Rimers of Eldritch 2010

Marina as 'Eva Jackson' and Me as 'Mary Windrod'
Marina as ‘Eva Jackson’ and Me as ‘Mary Windrod’

My school theater department put on Lanford Wilson’s “The Rimers of Eldritch” this week as our Winter Production. It all came together very well and, in the end, we all had a good time performing it. But, it was H-e-double hockey sticks to get it to the place it was Opening Night. I’m very proud of the work we did as actors and even more proud that our fabulous techinical designer Emma was able to program and execute the over 138 light cues that the show called for. We actors owe everything to our Techies! I LOVE YOU EMMA!
